Congratulations, Class of 2026!

New 2 You student staff

Happy graduation day to our three high school seniors, Cora, Bea, and Glory! We are so proud of each of them. It has been such a blessing to get to know them and walk alongside in their high school years.

These girls started at New 2 You last year, working only a few shifts to earn money for their Winterim trips at Grand Rapids Christian High School. But they were such hard workers that we couldn’t let them go so soon. They’ve become an integral part of our Saturday and weeknight crews, especially during times when we have fewer volunteers and really need the extra hands.

We’re proud to tell you more about each of these students and where they’re headed next.

CORA

Cora will be attending Calvin University to study English Literature. She’s looking forward to being part of the Arts Collective and hopes to get involved with writing clubs. In high school, she was heavily involved in the arts and theatre. By her senior year, she was doing solo projects, leading the knitting and crocheting club, and even painting a musical mural in the high school hallway. In her free time, she loves to read, write, knit, and play video games.

Cora’s favorite New 2 You memory is working Thursday nights, when one of our volunteers, Blake, comes over to show her fun vintage and unique finds. She loves seeing the donations!

BEA

Bea will also be attending Calvin and plans to study Elementary Education. She has a passion for involvement in many areas of campus life, so in high school, she participated in theatre, Student Congress, the National Honor Society, and served as a writer and leader for the Eagle Eye newspaper. In college, she hopes to be involved in Rangeela (a cultural heritage showcase) and Student Senate.

Bea’s favorite memory from New 2 You has been interacting with customers. It’s always special to her when a customer shares the story and vision behind their clothing finds—what they like about the clothes and what they hope to wear them with.

GLORY

Glory plans to study Nursing at Calvin and take part in the Ministry Leadership Cohort, the Entrada Scholars Program, Gospel Choir, Dance Guild, and the African Student Association. In high school, one of her favorite memories was hosting an African party for her American friends so they could experience her culture. Outside of class, Glory loved being both on and off stage in theatre productions, playing lacrosse, and participating in Global Ambassadors, Gospel Choir, and Bollywood Dance Club.

Glory loves being at New 2 You, and her favorite memory here happens every day when she gets to chat with volunteers in the break room or say hi as she passes them.

All three girls hope to stay at New 2 You throughout their college years. We are so thankful for them and can’t wait to see where the Lord takes them. Happy graduation!
